EVENT INFORMATION

EUROPEAN FREESTYLE PRO KIDS TOUR 2010

Hove Lagoon, Brighton, UK.         5th/6th June 2010

An International Windsurfing Association sanctioned event in association with the UK Windsurfing Association.

1.      EVENT

1.1    This EUROPEAN FREESTYLE PRO KIDS TOUR 2010 Event will be held at Hove Lagoon, Brighton UK on June 5th / 6th 2010 (competition days).

1.2    The EUROPEAN FREESTYLE PRO KIDS TOUR 2010 is a 6 Event tour and the overall winner(s) will be known as the European Freestyle Pro Kids Tour 2010 winner.

2.      ORGANISER

2.1    This EUROPEAN FREESTYLE PRO KIDS TOUR 2010 event will be organized by Trevor Funnell, the UK Windsurfing Association (UKWA) and Lagoon Watersports for and on behalf of and under specified conditions laid down by the International Funboard Class Association (IFCA), with the support of the International Windsurfing Association (IWA) & European Freestyle Pro Tour (EFPT).

3.      VENUE

3.1    The event will be based at Lagoon Watersports, Hove Lagoon, The Kingsway, City of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, BN3 4 LX, UK.

4.      ADVERTISING  

4.1    ISAF Regulation 20 – Advertising Code- shall apply.

4.2    Competitors may be required to carry advertising for the event sponsors - both on their sails, and on a lycra vest, if supplied by the organiser.

5.      ENTRY

5.1    Pre-entry is a requirement and forms are available online via the UKWA website; www.ukwindsurfing.com or via the Lagoon Watersports website; www.hovelagoon.co.uk 

5.2    Completed entry forms should be emailed to Trevor Funnell at t50rev@freedom255.com and signed copies presented at registration.

5.3    Late entries may be taken on site on Friday 4th June between 18.30 and 19.30 only. NO late entries will be taken at the Saturday morning registration.

5.3    Entrants under the age of 18 must submit at registration a copy of the entry form signed by a parent or guardian.

6.      FEES

6.1    The Entry Fee shall be £25.00 (UK Pounds) for U-20, U-17, U-15 and U-13. The first five female entrants will receive a voucher to spend on clothing in Ocean Sports Surf Shop.

6.2    Entry Fees must be paid in cash on site at registration.

7.      SCHEDULE (APPROX)

Friday June 4th: Arrivals, registration [18:30 - 19:30].

Saturday June 5th: Arrivals, registration [08:30 - 09:30], Opening Ceremony & Skippers meeting [10:30], Competition [First poss start 11:30].

Sunday June 6th: Skippers meeting [09:30], Competition [First poss start 10:30) Last poss start [15:00]; Prize giving & Closing Ceremony [16:30]. Departures on Sunday evening or Monday morning.

 

At the discretion of the Organising Committee, the programme could be changed. The warning times of the first start and the skippers meeting will be written as an Official Notice and posted on the ONB until 20:00 of the previous day, otherwise the above times will apply. Participation in the closing ceremony/prize giving is obligatory for all competitors.

8.      SAILING INSTRUCTIONS (SI)/EVENT PROGRAMME

8.1    The SI’s, Event Programme and Social Schedule will be available at registration.

9.      INSURANCE

9.1    Competitors shall possess valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1 million euros/pounds.

10.    OFFICIAL CEREMONIES

10.1  Attendance at the Opening Ceremony and Prize Giving Ceremony is mandatory.

11.    ACCOMMODATION / TOURIST INFORMATION

11.1  A list of local hotels and tourist information will be on the UKWA website; www.ukwindsurfing.com and the Lagoon Watersports website; www.hovelagoon.co.uk

11.2 If you are travelling to the event by car, van or motorhome please advise us with your entry whether you will require overnight camping facilities, this information will be sent to you with your entry confirmation. pan>

12.    CATERING

12.1  All competitors will receive a free snack lunch on competition days and there will be a barbecue on Saturday evening, free to competitors and at extra cost to parents and others. Vouchers will be provided at registration. There will be free drinks and fruit available for competitors throughout the day.

13.    TRAVELLING

13.1  Getting to Hove Lagoon by air. The nearest airport is London Gatwick with flights from most European countries. We will be providing a shuttle service from the airport to the venue on Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning with returns on Sunday evening and Monday morning. This will need to be requested and details of flights will need to be provided in advance. We will not be providing a shuttle service from any other airport.

13.2  Getting to Hove Lagoon by car:

The nearest ferry port is Newhaven and from there Hove Lagoon is approx 12 miles West on the A259. From the Channel Tunnel and Dover the route to follow is M20, M26, M25, M23, A23, then West on the A27 for 2.5 miles then left (South) at the Hangleton Interchange towards Portslade Southwick, A293(A270) for 1 mile then left (East) onto the A270 for 0.1 miles, then turn immediately right, (South) onto Boundary Rd, (Portslade Shopping Area) for 0.5 miles, then left (East) onto Kingsway for 0.5 miles, Hove Lagoon will be found on the right and competitor parking areas will be signposted .

Terms of attendance

The UKWA reserves the right to exclude or expel any member / non member / family / group or individual from its event site should it be considered that they may by their actions or the perception of such bring the UKWA, its hosts other parties or individuals into disrepute. The UKWA Committee, in part or in it’s entirety, shall be the sole judge of such action, and their decision is deemed final.

Persons expelled shall leave the event site within 30 minutes of any verbal notice and shall not return. Exclusion may be deemed temporary (this event) or permanent (all events). Permanent expulsion shall be the decision of the elected committee and shall be confirmed in writing within 21 days of any temporary expulsion, however any excluded individual may not attend any UKWA events during this period of consideration.
