Cup 5 - Christchurch

Sat 17th - Sun 18th September

The UKWA National Championships 2011 continues at its most beautiful location, Steamer Point,Christchurch

Amendment to NOR.

Purpose: To accommodate Techno sailors who wish to apply for National Squad places as per the RYA statement of July 2011. RYA Squad Selection Policy

Some Techno sailors may choose to sail in different fleets at Cup 5 & 6 (6.8 sailors in the 7.8 division, and 7.8 sailors in the RS:X fleet) to increase their chances of selection, and may thereby forfeit their chance to win a UKWA 2011 national title in their original fleet.

The UKWA will make an allowance for the Techno national series when the above circumstances apply.

The allowance will only apply to the original fleet, and will be the average of the series points the sailor has earned in the Cup events that they have actually sailed in their original fleet or division.

Sailors should note that

- all other aspects of the NoR still apply, including the requirement to sail at the National Championships in October

- they need to compete at each relevant event for which they wish to get average points - just entering does not meet the requirements

- any average points allocated for Cup 5 do not change the calculation of average points for Cup 6.
