About the Inland series
The Inland series objective is to provide high quality racing for all fleets & classes & to include all levels of ability. There will be racing suited to the most experienced and most competative racers, racing for the club/recreational sailor as well as racing for newcomers. Especially welcome are our junior fleets & classes who may be experiencing two day racing for the first time.
How does this work
At all Inland events there will be two courses.
Course one
On course one we will race all standard UKWA fleets. (6.8 Techno, 7.8 Techno, RS:X, Raceboard & Formula)
Course two
On course two we will race all RYA fleets (3.5 Open, 4.5 Open, 5.8 Open, 6.8 Open, 3.5 Techno, 4.5 Techno, 5.8 Techno.) Every effort will be made to make our junior sailors feel welcome, safe and above all having fun.
Whilst all competitors on course one will need to be members of the UKWA, our junior sailors on course two can be members of the UKWA or RYA.
The UK Inland Champion will be decided by ones best 4 results from the 5 inland events.

About the Club
The Club is situated on Farmoor Reservoir 5 miles to the west of Oxford city centre. The Club is one of the premier inland water sailing clubs and waters in the southern half of England and is ideal venue for sailors of all ages and abilities. Situated in an elevated position above the wide expanses of the upper Thames flood plain the reservoir enjoys prevailing westerly winds. Excellent and plentiful car parking, a large clubhouse with good showers and changing facilities, plus launching from a large concrete apron. Care needs to be taken however as it can sometimes be slippery.
The Sailing Club Bar is expected to stay open for a period on the Saturday evening immediately after the close of racing. Please note that food is available in the mornings and at lunchtimes only. See note below concerning camping - It is a Thames Water Regulation that no overnight camping is permitted in their carpark. Dogs are permitted in the carpark but are not permitted on the upper level.

Directions
For your sat-nav the postcode is above
A34
Leave the A34 at the A420 junction taking the Swindon route. Take the first exit, half way up the hill and then turn right at the T-junction towards Farmoor. At the mini-roundabout in Farmoor, turn left towards Cumnor and take the third entrance to the reservoir, on the right, into the Public car park. There is no need to stop at the gate house. The club house is clearly visible from the car park.
M40
Heading South, leave the M40 at junction 9 taking the A34 south towards Oxford. Follow directions as in the A34.
Heading north, leave the motorway at junction 8 taking the A40 towards the Oxford ring road. Turn right following the ring road until you get to the A34 then turn left heading south. Then see above.
A40 - Eastbound
At the Eynsham roundabout turn right, straight over the next roundabout and then left at the next (signposted Oxford). Once over the toll bridge (5p for cars, 10p for car plus trailer) continue to Farmoor village. At the mini-roundabout, turn right towards Cumnor and take the third entrance to the reservoir, on the right, into the Public car park. There is no need to stop at the gate house. The club house is clearly visible from the car park.
A40 - Westbound
At the Eynsham roundabout turn left, straight over the next roundabout and then left at the next (signposted Oxford). Once over the toll bridge (5p for cars, 10p for car plus trailer) continue to Farmoor village. At the mini-roundabout, turn right towards Cumnor and take the third entrance to the reservoir, on the right, into the Public car park. There is no need to stop at the gate house. A420 - Eastbound
Approaching from the Swindon direction, exit the A420 to the village of Cumnor. Turn left at T-junction and follow the road through the village (small one way system) towards Farmoor. The reservoir can be clearly seen as you come down the hill. Take the first major left hand turn into the car park.
Camping
Motorhomes, caravans and tents can be accommodated in a field near the reservoir for the Friday and Saturday nights - (200 yards past the reservoir entrance - it will be signposted, see LWA website for map) - at a charge of £7.00 per unit for one night, £10.00 for two nights. Please pay at registration. Note that there is NO WATER on site so you will need to bring your own. You will be able to get water from the Sailing Club on the Saturday however. There are some fishermen’s toilets available within a few minutes’ walking distance.
"Please do not use instant Barbeques or make small fires as these will leave burn marks on the grass."
It is NOT practicable to rig up on the camping site even though it is close to the reservoir. You may of course drive your kit up to the water level in the Sailing Club and drop it off, but vehicles must all be taken back down to the lower car park immediately after unloading.
Dropping Off Trailers
Please be warned that Thames Water usually close the main gates at dusk (around 8pm - although this precise time is NOT guaranteed!) so if you arrive after this time you will NOT be able to drop off your trailer.
When you do drop off your trailer please note that there is a special area designated for trailers alongside the path which runs down the bottom of the sloping field. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TRAILER ON THE TWO LARGE FLAT RIGGING AREAS EITHER SIDE OF THE CLUBHOUSE.
