We had good wind everyday and were able to keep exactly to the planned schedule for races.
A different couse everyday; 5 courses to test the all round ability of this formula fleet from 17 countries, representing 4 continents.

The ten sailing events for the 2012 Olympic Games have been decided by the ISAF Council during the 2007 ISAF Annual Conference. Today in Estoril, Portugal, ISAF President Göran Petersson led the ISAF Council in over two hours of debate and discussion before the ten events were decided………

After a slow start to the season Ross Williams (GBR 83) - Gaastra, Tabou, O’Neill- finished the year strongly . Once again Ross made the PWA Top Ten in two disciplines: Wave 9th and Slalom 10th.

Richard Hamilton (GBR 75) & Elliot Carney (GBR 274) did very well at the recent RSX Youth Worlds (Sopot, Poland). The competition was run to the new Olympic format with the final day being the medal race for the top ten sailors.

Team GBR win two world titles at the Formentera World Championships. Ali Masters (u17) and Sam Sills (u15) emerged victorious in the 2007 Techno 293 World Championships. A further 2 races on the last day to complete a full series of 12 races for all fleets.
A great end to a successful championship.

The first formula windsurfing Grand prix to take place in the uk was won by Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG3).
Seven races were completed over the 5 days of the Whiteair Festival in predominantly light to medium offshore winds. All the sailors considered the event a great success and are looking forward to returning in 2008.

WHITEAIR Extreme Sports Festival 2007 has undergone a major transformation! Windsurfing remains the centre of attraction but the dates have moved to accommodate the Whiteair Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix ; bringing to the shores of the UK top formula racers from around the world , including current World Champion Steve Allen (AUS0). The event will also include Round 1 of the UKWA Freestyle Championships. (Info sheet)

Ross Williams (GBR83) had his best day for some time at the PWA Pozo -slalom 42 - with 2 wins out of three rounds. Ross is currently placed 6th overall having made all the finals to date.

Nick Dempsey secured Great Britain’s fourth medal at the ISAF World Sailing Championships in Cascais on Thursday (12 July), clinching bronze in a gripping final medal race. Full story on the Skandia Team GBR site.
