World windsurfing bronze for Dempsey

ISA Karpathos speed event throws up some surprise results

International Speed Windsurfing Class. The 1st round of the ISA speed world cup kicked of on the idyllic island of Karpathos in Greece. The event was run last year for the 1st time and proved to be very popular with the racers for being the most welcoming on the tour. It was not surprising then for 2007, a record 75 entrants turned up from 22 countries including Australia, Brazil and Hawaii.


Techno an International Class

The Corona Extra PWA World Cup ’07-Tiree

Tricky conditions test Brits in Palma

Nick Dempsey at Miami.The RS:X windsurfers finally saw some racing today at the Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma (Olympic Sailing classes), with Nick Dempsey crossing fifth in the men’s fleet and a respectable 14th for Youth squad sailor Richard Hamilton, while Lucy Horwood and Bryony Shaw finished in fifth and seventh places respectively in the women’s event.

Speed Class joins IWA

ISWC. Speed windsurfers have taken the next step forward in the development of their class. The Speed Class becomes the 7th member class of the International Windsurfing Association, more details on the IWA website.

Speed in NamibiaCongratulations to Zara Davis, following on from the Speed World Cup event in Namibia, Zara has finished this years programme as 3rd fastest woman, and 2nd in the production board series. Great Britain takes top ten at RS:X World Championship

RYA Wndsurfing The RS:X World Championship, which drew to a close today, 30 September, proved to be a tough event for Skandia Team GBR. While our British sailors may be coming home medal-free, they do so with their heads held high, following an event that saw them dig deep to execute some spectacular performances.

Ross, Gybing inside Arnon and ahead of Micah.Micah Buzianis (US-34) stays top dog for another day in the Slalom 42 as the wind fails to materialize. Light breezes tantalized the PWA’s finest racers throughout day four, nearing contestable strength on several occasions, including a scramble to start the fourth heat of race 2.
