Over the next week, Britain’s top windsurfers, Nick Dempsey and Bryony Shaw will set out to better their Qingdao Olympic Test Event results when competing in the first ever official RS:X World Championship from 23-30 September in Torbale, Italy.

The final day of the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Silvaplana brought the event to a thrilling climax. Today the famous marathon race was sailed. It was this historical final race which decided about the victory in the discipline Racing as Ross Williams was fighting head to head with his hardest opponent Arnon Dagan for top honours on the podium. Having already won 3 golds and 1 silver from the first 4 international events this year Nick Dempsey held his nerve and has become the European Champion in a fleet of 94 top class sailors including 2004 Olympic Gold, Silver and of course Bronze medalists.

Nick Dempsey delivered gold for Britain at the Holland regatta rounding off Skandia team GBR’s seven medal haul from this ISAF grade 1 event.

British sailors Nick Dempsey and Bryony Shaw won the 37 edition of the Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía-Mapfre. Dempsey was the best competitor in Neil Pryde RS:X men went into the final race with a comfortable advantage but he didn’t relax and dominated the medal race.

Congratulations to Nick Dempsey & Bryony Shaw, flying the flag on the top steps of the podium. Lucy Horwood seems to have crossed over to daggerboard equiped racing from formula & picked up 3rd place, ahead of team mate & former Womens Formula World Champion Christine who took 5th place.

Ricardo Campello and Daida Moreno prolong their London titles. Nik Baker’s Domination of the slalom wasn’t quite enough to get back his overall title, Ricardo’s 2nd slalom and 1st in the jump sealed the overall result.
