Windsurfer of the Year …..

Despite a very promising forecast, the wind did not arrive for the warm-up event to the evenings celebrations.

Hibbard & Jackson confirmed as Champions

Tushingham/Starboard riders John Hibbard and Alan Jackson are confirmed as 2007 Wave and Slalom Champions, respectively.
It was a close run thing in both disciplines - both titles decided on a tie break.!


Windsurfing at Weymouth 2012

The ten sailing events for the 2012 Olympic Games have been decided by the ISAF Council during the 2007 ISAF Annual Conference. Today in Estoril, Portugal, ISAF President Göran Petersson led the ISAF Council in over two hours of debate and discussion before the ten events were decided………


Rutland Water Delivers Again

“All through the night the wind built keeping many people awake but fortunately it settled to a steady 12-16 knots by the 9.15 briefing. The race team had worked hard to get the course ready early and the orange flag was raised for the formula fleet at the end of the race briefing.” Bob Ingram reports back from the last Inland event.


UKWA Wave Series Final West Wittering 26th - 28th October

Richard Jones mid forward.The final event of the UKWA Series was hosted by West Wittering Windsurf Club over the weekend. With one day of high wind sandwiched between high pressures we were lucky to get some wind. Sunday morning saw force six and good waves hit West Wittering beach with one of the highest tides of the year.


Hayling delivers…title decider at Poole!

Yet again Hayling delivered the conditions for a “challenging” round 4 of this years Slalom Championship! …..
Alan Jackson rose to the occasion - two wins in the last 2 races ensured he finished the event one point ahead of main rival K 9-Guy Cribb .


Wave Rankings after Tiree…….

With just one more event to go in the race for the 2007 Wave titles, the rankings after Tiree - round 3 of the 4 Nations Championship- are published. Leading sailors are: Andy King (Pro), Simon Crowther (Am), Louise Emery (Ladies), Graham Woods (youth), Aleksy Gayda (Junior) and Sav (Master).


Frustrating Speedweek 2007

Weymouth Speed WeekThe week was hailed a great success despite the lack of wind the Monday’s counting round meant it qualified as an official round of the World ISA circuit and that Nigel Spriggs and Linda Cleary are crowned the UKWA 2007 British speed champions.


Frustrating start to Speedweek 2007

Weymouth Speed WeekA record number of competitors from all over Europe arrived on the opening day of WSW to be faced with a moderate wind forecast from an easterly direction, not the normal south-westerly. To add to the frustration, the timing system from the ISA had a major problem with a crashed hard drive. So the old system had to be hurriedly pressed back into service to enable timing to take place.

Whitwell -Inland 5 summary…

Whitwell on Rutland Water delivered a full weekends racing for all fleets - with 7 races for raceboard/ techno & 6 races for formula; plus 12 races on the junior course.Full results will be posted very soon- but this weekends winners were……


Eastern Windsuring Association formed…

For the first time in nearly 10 years, the Eastern region has its own windsurfing association and racing scene.
The aims of the association are to get local windsurfers together for ‘Master Blaster’ fun race days and to sail together at a variety of East Coast locations.
