Olympic update

At the halfway stage (hopefully, given the lack of wind), Nick Dempsey currently lies in 3rd place, and Bryony in 5th. The RYA have been on top of all the action with loads of articles going out on all the sailing action, here are the windsurfing highlights from the RYA so far.


Ross Williams - European FW Champion

Congratulations to Ross Williams, the new European Formula Windsurfing Champion. Steve Allen (Aus 0) won the Allegro Cup, but Ross (GBR 83) was the first European racer.

Formula Europeans in Poland

Updated for day 5: After 1 race this morning when the wind went from strong to light, we are currently waiting for the next race after the Silver fleet and the Ladies. The wind has just picked up so we’re about to go back out.


Xtremefest Felixstowe

Unfortunately there won’t be any UKWA freestyle competition at Felixstowe this weekend, but there will be a Freeride super session, as well as Windsurf lessons from Keith Atkinson, and lots of other stuff you’d expect from an Xtremefest that promotes healthy living, beach lifestyle and extreme sport. UKWA Tiree Wave Classic 2008

Fat Face 2008

Derwent Inlands

Inlands at Whitwell earlier in the year.Derwent Sailing Club is amongst the best, it has excellent facilities, and overnight camping will be permitted on Friday and Saturday. The water is large and suits all fleets and classes. We will provide racing to suit all levels of ability, come and give it a try!!

Slalom at Hove

Jamie HawkinsThe first day of slalom saw 8 Rounds of downwind slalom in excellent conditions! Most people used 6.5m sails in rolling swell, Sunday dawned with 20+ knots and most people on 5.5m sails in small breaking waves.


JP/NP Slalom Series - Hove this weekend!

Slalom action from Clacton.Well, its come round quick and truthfully following the 45knt epic event we had in mid-Wales a little too quick for my aching body! Hove is this weekend, always a fantastic location with great facilities and a very welcoming club and staff at Hove Lagoon.


F2 Bounces Back and Signs Top UK Sailor

Zara practicing recently at Arinaga on Gran Canaria.F2 restructure and spring back into action with the signing of Zara Davis the UKs Queen of speed. Zara has been recovering from a badly broken foot that she injured in competition last year and the news of the interest in her from F2 has given her even more incentive to get back to full fitness.


Aberdovey JP/Pryde Slalom

This weekend’s event was one of extremes, with sails sizes of 9m on the Saturday (and not a lot of slalom), and 4m on sunday, with more races than most people could handle!
