Techno and Junior sailors attending UKWA Inland 3 event at Oxford SC:

The first day of the UKWA Inland 3 event at Oxford SC (Farmoor) on 8 - 9 June 2013 will be run in conjunction with the RYA South Zone Team 15 Interclub competition.  This means that Junior sailors who are eligible for the Team 15 Interclub event (those whose home or club is in RYA South Zone) will not have to choose between the UKWA and Team15 events -by competing on both days they will  obtain full results in both events.

Racing for Techno 6.8 and 7.8 classes will take place on the UKWA main course on both days, with Team15 Techno 6.8s joining the UKWA course on Saturday.  UKWA Juniors in 3.5, 4.5 and 5.8 classes will race on the Team15 course on Saturday alongside Team15, and will then race on a UKWA Junior course on Sunday.

Results for those who are not eligible for South Zone Team15 will not count towards the scoring for the Team15 event or series, but will count towards their UKWA scoring.

Entries:

Sailors entering for UKWA only (and not entering the Team15 event) should register with UKWA in the usual way on Saturday morning, and pay the two-day Youth/Junior entry fee of £20.

Sailors who are eligible for South Zone Team15 and who wish to enter the Team15 event should register with Team15 in the normal way for Saturday, and pay the usual Team15 entry fee.  If they are entering the UKWA event in parallel, they will need to register again with UKWA by Sunday morning, and pay the UKWA one-day entry fee of £15.

Trailers

There will be a designated area for trailers up near the club house, but cars/motorhomes will need to be returned to the car park.  Notification of when the gates will be closed to be posted on the main UKWA Website.  Please remember if you are dropping your trailer off on the Friday night there will be a £2 charge to exit the Car Park introduced by Thames Water.

Camping

Update information 4th June:

Camping - As there has been a considerable amount of rain in recent weeks confirmation will be received by the LWA Committee on Thursday evening regarding which area will be used for camping. The alternatives are:

1)            Camping in the field - used 2 years ago - which is situated about ½ mile on the left, having turned right out of the main entrance to  Farmoor Reservoir.

2)            If the field is too wet then the hard standing area used last year around Willow Park Development about 1 mile on the left, having turned right out of the main entrance to Farmoor Reservoir.  Please note because units on Willow Park Development are in use during the afternoon, we are NOT allowed to park there until after 5pm.

The fee for camping is £7 for one night and £10 for two nights, payable on Registration.

Direction signs will be posted for those arriving on Friday afternoon/evening.  If you are arriving before 5pm on the Friday afternoon or have any queries please contact Janet on 07711 552265.

Please note that there is no water or toilets available at either site.  Please ensure you leave whichever site tidy.

If however you require full camp site facilities there is an official site called Valley Farm Campsite on Eynsham Road, tel 01865 861970. Turn left out of the main entrance to Farmoor Reservoir, at the T junction turn right towards the motorway and the site is a couple of hundred yards along on the right hand side.

Oxford Sailing Club will provide a BBQ on the Saturday early evening numbers permitting.  Please sign up at Registration.

Our understanding is that the gates to Farmoor Reservoir will not be locked until 10pm, so anyone wishing to drop their trailers off on the Friday evening may do so but please remember that Thames Water have now installed a "Pay on Exit" system which means you have to pay a £2 charge in coins every time you wish to exit the car park even on the Friday evening.

Please do not leave trailers on the flat grass area which is for rigging only. All trailers need to be parked down the side slope as usual.
