About The Club

Set in a beautiful Pennine valley on the border between Northumberland and Durham and bounded by moorland and conifers. Derwenr Reservoir is perfectly located and is within easy reach of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Reservoir is 3.5 miles long and has a thousand acres of beautiful clean and open water devoted to windsurfing and sailing.

The two story club house built in 1965 is situated on the North shore and is well equiped with showers changing rooms a large club room galley bar rooftop patio and indoor workshop. Five generour slipways provide for easy launching.

Dogs

Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept in or near a vehicle, and walked off site along the road (NWL rules)

From the North

A1 South. A 69 West towards Hexham. A 68 South. At crossroads at top of Kiln Pit Hill turn right. Follow road and take second turning left. Follow road to reach clubgates on left side of the road

From the East

A69 West towards Newcastle and Hexham. Follow directions as above from A68 South.

From the South

A1M North to A69. Follow directions as above fropm A69 West towards Hexham

From the West

Follow A69 East to A68junction. Follow directions as above from A68 South 

Camping

Overnight parking and camping will be permitted at the club on Friday and Saturday night. Excellent showers & toilets are available.

 

Terms of attendance

The UKWA reserves the right to exclude or expel any member / non member / family / group or individual from its event site should it be considered that they may by their actions or the perception of such bring the UKWA, its hosts other parties or individuals into disrepute. The UKWA Committee, in part or in it’s entirety, shall be the sole judge of such action, and their decision is deemed final.

Persons expelled shall leave the event site within 30 minutes of any verbal notice and shall not return. Exclusion may be deemed temporary (this event) or permanent (all events). Permanent expulsion shall be the decision of the elected committee and shall be confirmed in writing within 21 days of any temporary expulsion, however any excluded individual may not attend any UKWA events during this period of consideration.
