Dave (Vinnie) Standing

Known commonalty as Vinnie I returned to windsurfing following a break of several years in 2001. In March 2006 I met Dave White in Dahab and that was the start of my competitive windsurfing life. I entered Weymouth speed week that September (2006) and managed a respectable 30 knots on freeride equipment. I secured sponsorship with Worthing Watersports and Tabou, Gaastra that winter and entered the 2007 slalom series. Following some coaching from past master champion Stuart Ord Hume I improved my racing technique to finish the year in 4th place and 3rd Master (Challenge).

My aim is to improve that position this season and to end up competing in the highest national fleet within the next two years.
