Clyde Waite

I started windsurfing at a fairly young age, but never really got into it till I was 15. From there I was hooked and took up racing, spending the next 5 years competing on the national circuit with fairly good success, till I went to University to study Chemistry for some reason. I still windsurfed as much as possible, but got a little side tracked. I got back into competition when Formula came about, but tendonitis stopped that, and I still prefered to sail in waves so tried my hand at the Freewave circuit in 2002.

After a trip to WA in 2003, I decided to compete in the pro fleet, where the standard is a lot higher than at first expecte, but at the same time gaining ever important competition experience, The atmosphere is also excellent, the freewave circuit also really improves your personal leve. It is highly recommened. I also decided to work with the RYA and team 15 to help get more youth continuing in the sport, and get help them improve their racing and windsurfing skills. In 2004 I hope to windsurf, compete and coach as much as possible, and also help promote windsurfing.
