I have been windsurfing since I was 15 back in sunny South Shields (Newcastle). Fortunately I have had the privilege of windsurfing in some fantastic places such as Turkey, Antigua, Fuerteventura and, finally, Australia this year.

I competed in the 2003 Wight Air (Amateur) event and not only won, but received a wild card to the Indoor event at the Schroders London Boat Show which is pretty mad!! Had a fantastic time thanks to help from the Waterboard (sorry about the dent in the board), the organisers and all the UKWA sailors.

I would recommend to any regular beach sailor, like me, to get in amongst it and have a go. Not only will you see some of the best windsurfing talent on the planet, you will also hopefully enjoy it - after all that's what this wicked sport is all about!!!
