I had my first windsurfing lessons when I was 6 years old on a lake not far from where I live called Leybourne, but then I started windsurfing at Bewl Water shortly after and i I remember the first time i was windsurfing for the first time, un-aided by my father. I stood on my board and with the wind behind me and i was on a mission - heading dead downwind to the other side of the reservoir. My dad was going crazy because i was sailing so far away and he had no control. I was independant! it was freedom, and i loved that feeling. I really didnt care about anything else, even my dad saying "lean the rig to the back of the board for gods sake". I was so wrapped up in the feeling of excitment, exhiliration, and adrenaline...i was windsurfing, and i was so unbelievably happy!
