Steve Sugden
Having competed somewhat unsuccessfully on a raceboard in the late 1980s, it took the advent of Formula racing to tempt me away from periodic shortboard blasting sessions at Farmoor and back to competition. Having been inspired by the wonderful 'Techno Tourist' accounts during 2002 I have competed in the Formula Freeride/Freerace class in 2003/2004 on my trusty Techno Formula and Speedster rigs. The Freerace fleet has proved an excellent re-introduction to competitive windsurfing, with excellent organisation, simple courses, superb venues and friendly and helpful co-competitors.

Big thanks to Ian Kraft, whose enthusiasm was a real spur to get me back into racing and to my family for putting up with losing me so many weekends a year. Also to BIC for both for their support of racing in the UK and continuing to make fun and affordable windsurfing kit.
