Rutland Marathon 2014

Inland Regional Series 2 Including The Rutland Marathon.

May 24th & 25th @ Rutland Water-Whitwell

The UKWA is a proud supporter of ‘Action For Children’ and as such has for over 25 years been associated with ‘The Rutland Marathon’.
2014 is no exception, this year the race is scheduled for approximately 3pm on Saturday 24th May. The race is being Sponsored by Starboard / Tushingham. Thanks to Dave & everyone at Starboard / Tushingham for their continued support. You raise sponsorship money for the charity and in return you will receive a Free branded ‘T Shirt’ from our sponsor. UKWA Chairman Bob Ingram said ‘These have been difficult times for charities therefore this year I am going to set myself the goal of raising a minimum of £50. If I don’t make it I will make up the balance myself!’
Please bring your sponsorship money to the event as YOU WILL finish the course, and pay it in at registration.
All marathon finishers will receive a commemorative gold medal and there are an array of trophies to be awarded across the fleets.
The marathon winner will receive ‘The Laura Ashley Trophy’ a beautiful addition to anyone's trophy cabinet.

Juniors

There will be race training for our junior fleets 3.5, 4.5 & 5.8 sailors which will include a mixture of race training and actual races, with head coach Ali Yates.
The training is run courtesy of the TCA. There will be a special junior marathon included in the event. Sponsorship, Free‘T Shirts’ and commemorative medals also apply to our juniors.
