Slalom 3 - Worthing
Sat 15th - Sun 16th June
About Slalom
UKWA Slalom represents windsurfing in its purest form. No matter what your ability, the kit you use or the discipline you specialise in, everyone can relate to the exhilaration of blasting back and forth, trying to squeeze that extra bit of juice out of your kit whilst racing your mates.
At an event you choose a fleet to join depending on your ability, and blast around a simple course, trying to get to the finish the quickest!
At the events, there are several fleets:
- Master Blaster Fleet: Any kit, launch from the beach, get around one bouy any way you can, and get back! First back to the flag wins.
- National Fleet: New for 2023. The National fleet will be split into two divisions, those using slalom kit and those using freeride kit, however both divisions will be raced together.
- International Fleet: New for 2023. The International Fleet will follow the structure of IFCA, except that a second foil sail will be allowed and a 50mm tolerance will be allowed for any pre 2023 foil board.

BSA Slalom Series event 3 Worthing, Supported by Fanatic, North, ION
Location: Marine Drive Goring, West Sussex. BN12 5
Worthing looks to offer much, but what we will see with the sea state is calm as the shallow beach allows for great sea breezes and nice flat water to test your speed and really make you feel like you are a world tour sailor.
K66 supported by Fanatic, North and ION want to go one better at this event and have already booked the wind, so whether its fighting for the title that gets you excited, or just cruising around with the locals on the Master Blast course you have to come down.
Worthing Watersports are getting there teeth stuck in this year as well, sponsoring the Mater Baster fleet with product prizes!
All the major brands will be on hand to offer advice and let you try the latest and greatest gear on the market. Also should the wind stay away North and Fanatic have organised a huge selection of water events to test your racing and team spirit to the max with Paddleboarding and light wind freestyle to name a few.
Worthing has been at the forefront of windsurfing in UK since the early days as its cool summer winds and nice flat water means that anytime its windy you can sail, Mike from Worthing watersports lives just around the corner as does Ant Baker, this beach is also where the Baker Academy sets new comers on there windsurfing way.
There is no better beach to race from and with the grass rigging and free parking, this should definitely be the race event you come too.
