About Slalom
UKWA Slalom represents windsurfing in its purest form. No matter what your ability, the kit you use or the discipline you specialise in, everyone can relate to the exhilaration of blasting back and forth, trying to squeeze that extra bit of juice out of your kit whilst racing your mates.
At an event you choose a fleet to join depending on your ability, and blast around a simple course, trying to get to the finish the quickest!
At the events, there are several fleets:
- Master Blaster Fleet: Any kit, launch from the beach, get around one bouy any way you can, and get back! First back to the flag wins.
- National Fleet: New for 2023. The National fleet will be split into two divisions, those using slalom kit and those using freeride kit, however both divisions will be raced together.
- International Fleet: New for 2023. The International Fleet will follow the structure of IFCA, except that a second foil sail will be allowed and a 50mm tolerance will be allowed for any pre 2023 foil board.

£2000 Prize Fund Announced
Clacton Sea & Beach Festival announcesa a £2000 prize fund for the event. Funds will be spread accross the Professional Fleet and The Amateur as below.

£150 Prize money will be distributed dependent of ladies categories over the weekend.
Prize money may be varied without notice on the day.
Entry
How do I enter & how much will it cost.
The best way to enter is on line. You can do this by following the link to the right of this page Pre-Enter On Line
On Line Pre entry closes at 10pm on the Monday prior to each event after this you can only enter on the day at the event.
Why enter on line? If you pre enter on line you will receive a 10% pre entry discount. Alternatively if you enter 4 or more events across Slalom and or Course Racing National Championships (excluding Inlands & Youth & Masters) you will receive a 20% pre entry Discount.
How much will it cost?
Pro & Amateur
Adult £55
Junior/Youth/Full time student Under 21 £40
Master Blaster
Adult £30
Junior/Youth/Full time student Under 21 £25
Please Note: You need to be a member of the UKWA to enter any slalom events. However Temporary weekend membership is available at £10. This can be used repeatedly for Master Blaster entry but only once for entry to the Pro or Amateur fleets. To join the UKWA go to JOIN HERE.

Alternatively you can download an entry form and send a cheque to the admin office which should be received by 10pm on the Monday prior to each event you wish to enter. ENTRY FORM
Entry is always available on the day of the event from 8am.
Please Note: Some events are subject to a supplement. There is no discount applied to supplements.
Terms of attendance
The UKWA reserves the right to exclude or expel any member / non member / family / group or individual from its event site should it be considered that they may by their actions or the perception of such bring the UKWA, its hosts other parties or individuals into disrepute. The UKWA Committee, in part or in it’s entirety, shall be the sole judge of such action, and their decision is deemed final.
Persons expelled shall leave the event site within 30 minutes of any verbal notice and shall not return. Exclusion may be deemed temporary (this event) or permanent (all events). Permanent expulsion shall be the decision of the elected committee and shall be confirmed in writing within 21 days of any temporary expulsion, however any excluded individual may not attend any UKWA events during this period of consideration.
