How do I enter & how much will it cost?

If you are a UKWA member the best way to enter is with the link to the right of this page.

If you are not a UKWA member, and a Junior (3.5/4.5/5.8) you can pre-enter with the following button. Note, we will need to collect more details from you on the day. None UKWA members although welcome at this event do not qualify for any pre entry discounts. If you are not a UKWA member you will need to be a RYA member for insurance purposes. If you are neither you can buy weekend membership which includes third part insurance for just £10 on the day.

Why enter on line? If you pre enter on line you will receive a 10% pre entry discount. Alternatively if you enter 5 or more events across Slalom and or Course Racing National Championships and or Inland events (excluding National Windsurfing Championships) you will receive a 20% pre entry Discount.

Junior/Youth Under 20/Full time student £45

Please Note: You need to be a member of the UKWA to enter any course racing events. To join the UKWA go to JOIN HERE. However if you are a 3.5, 4.5 or 5.8 sailor you may instead be an RYA member.

For course racing you may take temporary membership once only for £10 as an introductory offer. If you upgrade to full membership over the same weekend the £10 can be deducted from the full membership payment. JOIN HERE.

There will be two courses

Course 1

Racing for Techno 5.8 (experienced racers only) / 6.8 / 7.8 / 8.5, RS:X, Raceboard, Formula and foils. 

Techno sailors should be aware that the minimum sail size raced on this course is 5.8 however if you are a 5.8 sailor and want to race on the main course you need to be reasonably compitent. Less experienced 5.8 sailors should enter course two as described below. 

Please Note: Pre entry for course One is to the right however 5.8 sailors will need to enter by the PayPal button above as the normal UKWA entry system does not include a 5.8 option.

Course Two

Racing for 3.5, 4.5 & 5.8 Fleets

On the junior course there will be a mix of skilly training and racing to introduce our junior fleet sailors to National racing events. These events are supported by the RYA and The Techno Steering Group who will appoint a coach to guide sailors through this new experience.

The event is open to all of our junior sailors and is intended to be a fun learning experience that will offer maximum enjoyment as well as some friendly racing.

Please Note: Anyone can pre enter on course two.

Alternatively you can download an entry form and send a cheque to the admin office which should be received by 10pm on the Monday prior to each event you wish to enter. ENTRY FORM

Entry is always available on the day of the event from 8am.

Camping and or car parking fees normally apply.

In addition all vans, tents and motorhomes parked on site are required as per terms of entry to carry an appropriate fire extinguisher.

Arrival & Camping

If you are arriving Friday evening, there will be a security guard on the gate to let you in. Trailers and equipment can be dropped off on the upper level. Once you have unloaded your trailer or equipment please return to the lower level for camping.  Parking of cars only is permitted on the upper level.  If any problems please ring Janet on 07711 552265.

There will be a charge for camping as we are required by Thames Water to pay for an overnight Security Guard. £25 two nights and £15 one night

Please note dogs are not permitted at this event due to club rules

Communication

The UKWA will be using its Public Address System to make announcements this weekend

However in addition we will be using a smartphone App. Whilst the PA system works well if you are in proximity, we can now talk to you directly via your smartphone throughout the event.

Not only can we talk to you, if you miss the transmission you can play it back so you never miss a thing.

If you want to be part of this then please search for and download the App called Zello Once you are signed up you go to Channels and search for UKWA including the UKWA logo.

So long as you have the App open at the event you will receive our transmissions

Food

The Galley will be open all day and on Saturday evening there will be a two course dinner served for £10 assuming an appropriate number register.  Competitors should  book and pay at Registration. Drinks will be available from the bar

Terms of attendance

The UKWA reserves the right to exclude or expel any member / non member / family / group or individual from its event site should it be considered that they may by their actions or the perception of such bring the UKWA, its hosts other parties or individuals into disrepute. The UKWA Committee, in part or in it’s entirety, shall be the sole judge of such action, and their decision is deemed final.

Persons expelled shall leave the event site within 30 minutes of any verbal notice and shall not return. Exclusion may be deemed temporary (this event) or permanent (all events). Permanent expulsion shall be the decision of the elected committee and shall be confirmed in writing within 21 days of any temporary expulsion, however any excluded individual may not attend any UKWA events during this period of consideration.
