Slalom 5 Boards One Hour Classic Challenge - Stokes Bay

The UKWA is pleased and excited to be bringing' The One Hour Classic Challenge' to the UK

            

Format

The 'One hour Classic' event will have three races per day. Saturday no race before 12 noon, Sunday no race before 11am.

Your entry fee gives you entry to all three races, you choose, do one, do two or do all three, same great price.

The course

As many laps as you can do on a 1km figure of 8 course. There will be a rabit start (a boat crosses in front of you, you start behind) sail accross the wind for 1000m gybe around a buoy, sail back to the start where you will gybe again and we will record you as you cross the line, repeat for one hour.

A briefing will be held before each race to detail the race and answer any questions.

Entry will be online only.

Junior, Youth (under 20) and Full Time Students £60

Adults £75

Entry will be restricted to the first 100 entries, first come first served, we are expecting this to be popular so don't delay, get your entry in today.

On Line Pre entry closes at 10pm on the Monday prior to the event. Should you miss the deadline please contact admin@ukwindsurfing.com 

How do I Enter

UKWA members - please enter as normal for National, International or WingFoil. If conditions are suitable races will count towards your 2024 series score. The Race Officer shall be the sole judge of the suitability of conditions and will take into account the effect of the speed and direction of any current, and wind measurements from as many parts of the course as possible. Races may be completed but deemed not to count.

Non-members - please enter below. Your entry includes UKWA membership for the weekend.

You can choose to enter fin, foil, wing or a combination of all three for just one entry fee. You can change or update your entry on the day, just visit the blue Marquee.

Parking and Camping

Stokes Bay Sailing Club has a large grass area which is perfect for camping, there are showers and toilets within the club and additional facilities on the sea front. Drinking water is available.

You are welcome to park and camp, vans & tents at the venue for a small charge below. This must be booked and paid for in advance. Club members, local residents and The UKWA will insist on the very best of behaviour

Terms of attendance

The UKWA reserves the right to exclude or expel any member / non member / family / group or individual from its event site should it be considered that they may by their actions or the perception of such bring the UKWA, its hosts other parties or individuals into disrepute. The UKWA Committee, in part or in it’s entirety, shall be the sole judge of such action, and their decision is deemed final.

Persons expelled shall leave the event site within 30 minutes of any verbal notice and shall not return. Exclusion may be deemed temporary (this event) or permanent (all events). Permanent expulsion shall be the decision of the elected committee and shall be confirmed in writing within 21 days of any temporary expulsion, however any excluded individual may not attend any UKWA events during this period of consideration.
