Midlands Slalom Event

1 November 2005

SATURDAY 5th November 2005

Slalom comes to the Midlands.

Whitwell Sailing Centre Rutland Water
Be There & Support Our Region

First race 11.00am, Skippers 10.30am

For the first time the Midlands region will be hosting a one day slalom event and if well supported it is hoped to run further events over the winter months.

The event will run along the lines of the UKWA 2004 Warrior series. Above 11 knots we will run only slalom racing, below 11 knots there will be the opportunity for competitors to participate in course racing. We will produce three sets of results:
1. Slalom winner.
2. Course race winner.
3. Overall winner.

It is however our main intention to run slalom racing whenever possible. Prizes will be awarded to the slalom winners. All competitors will be permitted to use any kit they wish, any type and any number of sails and boards. Everyone will be welcome; we will run racing for all abilities and age groups.

First race 11.00am Skippers 10.30am

The Whitwell Sailing Centre at Rutland Water is the home of the National Team Championships & The Rutland Marathon and this year will also host three rounds of the Midlands Series. Round Nine of the Series offers sailors the chance to compete on this excellent piece of water. A friendly race team and good all round facilities makes this an exciting event to take part in. Round nine will include two or three course races to be followed by the Rutland Autumn Marathon over the full Rutland Water Course. (a short course will be available for our younger sailors.)
