Nordic Championships
7 May 2005
The Nordic Championships in Formula Windsurfing and Freestyle is just 3 week away. More than 100 competitors from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic countries are expected to battle for the title of Nordic Champion 2005.
The event site is Skiphelle (outside Drøbak), just 30 minutes from Oslo, the capitol of Norway. Event host is Drøbaksound Sailing Club (DSSF), one of the country's most experienced regatta organizers. The location of the championships is on a narrow section on the Oslo fjord, where thermal winds funnelling through the fjord provide excellent sailing conditions.
Both Formula Windsurfing and Freestyle competitions will be held close to shore, so all the action is accessible to press and spectators.
The competition is an International Level 3 event giving points for the Formula Windsurfing World ranking. The Nordic Championships are open to entries from any country.
