Rutland Marathon 2006

24 April 2006

Midlands RegionThe Rutland Marathon is now in its 22nd year and has raised thousands of pounds for children in the UK. Mainly due to the efforts of Eric Holt the event has prospered and now in its regular position as the final race of the opening round of the UKWA Inland Series (May 13 - 14) we once again request your support.

Download a sponsor form or contact Bob at rollwood@globalnet.co.uk and have your friends support this most worthy of causes.

Ask them to pay you in advance, because you will!!! Finish the course and bring your sponsorship money with you to the event. You will receive a Free commemorative T shirt from our sponsors as above to whom we give our thanks.

Ross breaking the record in 2003The race will be around the perimeter of Rutland Water and is said to be in the region of 20 miles. Ross Williams is the current record holder but all records are only there to be broken. On a less windy day you can expect to be on the water for a couple of hours so this will be a Marathon effort!!

If we all raise £20.00 we will raise over £2000.00 helping to improve the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves. Please also read this article from Debbie Smith at the NCH.
