Welsh Hi Ho
8 March 2006
The Welsh Hi Ho will be making a welcome return this year.
Once again the venue will be the picturesque cove of Dale in Pembrokeshire, though Dale will only be a base for operations with wave sailing and cliff jumping locations within a 6 mile radius. last year proved to be a popular and successful event even though the wind did let us down and we were forced to resort to other activities such as beach volleyball, surfing, body boarding, skim boarding, fishing and attempted cliff jumping (and we would of made it too if it wasn't for Sam's pesky van!).
The August bank holiday weekend will be the dates you need to keep free and make plans for. This years event is all improved and will see open fleet racing in the bay (race the dinghies) and the cafe at the watersports centre is now licensed for selling alcohol and will be open all weekend, there will also be a bigger and better band for dancing in the street and in the cafe, plus an organised charity rowing race between all competing watersports disciplines (yachting, windsurfing, dinghy, rowing).
More details will be released nearer the date but if anyones looking for a relaxed and enjoyable weekend away in an amazing setting then the welsh hi ho will not disappoint and i'm sure former dale veterans will be glad to share their experience's and help you make a decision. failing that you can always contact Chris Lewis on daleweekend@rya-online.net or on 07976 782685.
