Windsurfers take on rowers - at rowing

RYA Team GBR RSX youth squad member Ed Strange and his sister Kate took on the best in the English Indoor Rowing Championships this weekend (29th Jan) at Manchester Velodrome.

They both competed at their best and Ed finished an amazing 2nd in the Junior 14 class and took the silver medal, which was presented to him by Sir Steve Redgrave. Kate also in her first competition rowed to an excellent 6th place in the Junior 12 class (she was racing in a class a year older.)

Rowing has been a big part of their winter training program and after Ed competed in the British Indoor Rowing Championships in November 05 when RYA Team GBR entered a team, (Ed Strange, Richard Hamilton, Alex Thompson and Dan Skudder), and finished 4th in the team event, the bug had bitten. They are both looking forward to their next competition.
