Four Nations Cup: Tiree Update (3-5 Oct)

1 August 2007

Tiree event. The Tiree event is 8 weeks away!! Accommodation on the island will be very tight as a lot of the ‘windsurfing houses' and the Hynish Hostel have been pre-booked for the PWA event. However, Andy Groom has offered to give over some of the houses to the UKWA competitors.

Will sailors please email Louise Emery if they are going to Tiree and have NOT booked any accommodation yet, otherwise you could all be sleeping in your vans!!

Now is also the time to book the ferry. Registration for the UK event is 9pm at An Talla Hall on the Tuesday night so you need to get the 3pm ferry on the Tuesday afternoon from Oban.

Please email Louise as soon as you know your plans.

Wild Card Reminder

Chris Audsley, previous Tiree. There are SIX wild cards for the PWA event. Two of these are awarded to the top two UK Pro riders from the Four Nations Cup Rankings. The other four are awarded to the TOP 4 sailors from the UKWA Tiree event, regardless of nationality, age or ability.

Obviously if those top two UK Pro riders are within the top 4 then wild cards will be given to the sailors finishing in 5th & 6th position. Similarly if there are UK sailors in the top4 who already have an entry into the PWA due to their PWA ranking then the wild cards will be awarded to sailors further down the list.
Foreign sailors who are outside the top 48 PWA sailors and therefore wish to enter the UKWA Tiree event to gain those wild cards will be pulled out of the final results to attain the Four Nations Cup result. We hope this is clear!!
