Mark Kay Winter Training : 07-08 UPDATE

This weekend turned out to be an excellent training session with Techno and RSX. The conditions on Saturday were cold however had 10-22 knots with some tricky gusts, managing speeds of up to 30mph; It was more of survival training session.
Mark really does push the sailors to the limit; no matter how hard the sailors think they are working Mark seems to get them to work ever harder.

Tactics - never know how much knowledge we need to know relating to racing, the morning theory worked well and we seemed to understand everything, got to lean about wind shift and bends, Once on the water the theory was put in to place this helped loads.

Techniques - We spent loads of time on this, moving booms up and down, trimming kit and learning new styles.

The best moment was when Mark was showing us the upwind techniques and got drilled, total wiped out in a spectacular fashion, and Harriet Ellis has to save his hat from drowning.

Sunday - lighter winds around 8-15knots, What a day, on the water for 10:30 finally finished around 4pm and did Mark push us, understatement he shout all day long, never gave us a minutes rest, upwind tacking lost count after 40ish tacks then on to the down wind pumping same again on gybes, all you heard all day was Mark shouting, one good thing we got loads out of the weekend and look forwards to the next event.

Anyone interested in being pushed hard in a fun way and wants to learn need to come to one of mark training events. I been pushed to the max, had fun and learnt so much

Cheers Mark Top Weekend
