The Tushingham Cup - Masterblaster Racing for everyone
20 March 2007
Hayling Island Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March 2007
The UK Windsurfing Association have combined forces with Tushingham Sails to give everyone the opportunity to compete in a series of simple off-the-beach Master-Blaster races irrespective of age, gender or sailor ability.
No need for previous racing experience. Sailors don't require any specialised race equipment or even sail numbers to join in the fun!
- Prizes for many different categories: pre 85, pre millennium equipment and even a fancy dress prize!
- Open to anyone on any kit.
- Simple "round the buoy" format.
- Sail numbers not necessary.
- Special reduced price of £20
The event will be offering championship racing for UKWA members ... and a lot more, for all to enjoy.
For the first event, Andy Biggs Windsurfing and Tushingham Sails have teamed up over the weekend to display the latest Tushingham/Starboard Demo kit which will be available to test. Sponsored riders will assist setting up your kit, with coaching clinics throughout the weekend. On the Saturday evening retire to the comfort of the Inn on the Beach where a meal and entertainment will be supplied to all competitors.
- Clinics from the pro's and demo kit available
- Saturday night entertainment
If you can sail planing in a straight line there's no excuse not to race but if you feel that one gybe really is one too many, then why not join The F2 Speed Gun Challenge instead - see how fast you really are! The super-keen can even join in both disciplines.
All in all it looks like a bumper weekend in store, with more to follow at all of the UKWA Slalom events in 2007 season, encouraging FUN and ACCESSIBLE racing back to our beaches.
