NWW join the UKWA in Bournemouth

With seven miles of golden sands and sparkling sea, the vibrant cosmopolitan town of Bournemouth has it all - a vast variety of shops and restaurants, buzzing nightlife and endless countryside with beautiful award-winning gardens and water sports galore.

What better location for the UKWA National Windsurfing Festival - an event to showcase our sport and kick off the National Windsurfing Week. The programme will include:
competition - slalom & freestyle + exhibition and demo- from leading UKWA sponsors:

Boards have confirmed they will be bringing Surf Sales demo trailer complete with the latest from Exocet, Kona, Gaastra and Tabou.

The event will take place off the beach between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers.
There is parking all along the esplanade -except for the 100m before Bournemouth pier. Access is from the Boscombe Pier end.

Directions- follow main routes to Boscombe, which can be approached from all directions; once in Boscombe follow brown and white tourism signs to Boscombe Pier (and Beaches). Turn tight at roundabout in front of pier where you will see "gated " access to the esplanade.

Access -is restricted to between 09.00 and 20.00. Please drive along towards B'mouth pier; use marked bays for parking; you do not need a ticket. Do not arrive before 9.00 am - parking is limited until gates are opened.

The event site will not be open until the Saturday morning.

Event schedule - each day:
the registration office will be open 9.30 to 11.00;
there will be a sailors briefing at 11.30;
and competition is scheduled between 12.00 and 17.00.

Entries- you can enter on a daily basis, or enter for the weekend and get a discount!
£20 per day or £35 for the weekend.

Overnight parking - the council have granted permission for vehicles to be parked overnight on site; however there is no overnight camping permitted on site. Arrangements will be made for camper vans to exit in the evening.
Vehicles left onsite will be supervised by event staff.
