Nick Dempsey - Cycling
6 June 2009
Nick Dempsey is taking on a new challenge:
Hi Everyone,
Cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats is something I have wanted to do for a long time. With my World Championships just 3 months away, now is the perfect time to get some serious miles on the bike.
We start the ride this Sunday 7th June from Lands End, up hill all the way to John O'Groats. It's about 900 miles and we are planing on doing it in 9 consecutive days which equates to about 8 hours a day on the bike. Sarah is coming along in the support vehicle visiting several schools along the way sharing her Olympic stories and hopefully inspiring young children to live their dreams. The cycling is going to be tough but the thing I am most worried about is Sarah going into labour on route!! With the baby due on the 27th June I really could do with not having to deliver the baby myself! I have to say I am a bit of pro when it comes to DIY but this would test my skills!!
This is the first time in my Olympic career that I have had the opportunity to give something back so I have chosen to ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Please help me to make a difference by making a donation. 100% of the money raised will go to the British Heart Foundation.
Please do donate and follow our progress.
Wish me luck,
Nick
