Sunday's West Kirby 'Ultimate Speed Meeting'

A cold but sunny day saw many of our fastest sailors converge on West Kirby to do battle on the GPS speed ladder.

Fastest of the day was again Farrell Oshea on his new Moo with a maximum speed of 45 knots and a 42.2 knot 5 times 10 second average. Closely followed by Steve Thorp in 2nd and Howie Rowson 3rd.

Conditions were slightly too light and tight for really quick times but everyone had a great time blasting down the wall for the first time in over 4 months.

Shame it wasn't a bit quicker, only felt lit for a couple of moments despite being on the 5.7 for a change and only being 85kg (+10 for the lead). It was soo bitterly cold though, I'm not sure I fancied too much wind, very hard work! (I dare say the 4 month break hasn't helped or the 6hrs wave sailing the day before)

Looked like Farrell was flying as usual, I'm sure he'll have a few high scores, I saw a 45 on his dial..
And looks like him and John are going to score it today too..
