Report via Formula Experience

Last day was great, wind started early at 11am so all sailors had their first start at 11.55am with about 11-15 knots in all the race area. Then came the second race with 13-18 knots so all guys were going really fast and the starting line looked awesome. All this action happened in the middle of Paracas bay.

The first sailor, as in all races before, to lead the races was Nicolas Schreier (Peru) that won everything. With this conditions also Eduardo Herman from Chile started to get better and better in the overall with Sebastian Aguirre (PER) and Santiago Canseco (PER) all pushing hard.

In the masters division Marcello Morrone and Alexandre Neves worked really hard to keep the lead in their division.

The really good women fleet was also in their game. Until this day Antonia Undurraga (CHI) was winning most regattas, but in this day Carolina Butrich (PER) started to lead the fleet so the last 2 races of the day, yet for the afternoon were going to define the trophy. We want to say that Josefina Cano (MEX) did a great job completing with good performance most races at her 12 years old only, racing also in Junior division too.

Junior Leonardo Venturini from Brasil was leading in his division closely followed by Pablo Ordorica (MEX). And Alessio Botteri (PER), other 12 years old kid was pushing hard over them and Carlos Gambirazio (PER) that was at that moment about third.

In the afternoon we had 2 more races, this time in Santo Domingo bay (closer to the beach and spectators) what was good for the end of the event. Most people was looking closely the last races with about 15 knots average in the race course. Nothing really changed in this two more races, except that Carolina Butrich (PER) did a great job to reach the first place in Women Fleet.

The Formula Experience South American Champion this year is Nicolas Schreier (PERU) in Men and Carolina Butrich (PERU) in Women.

At the end of the event, we had 7 races with 2 discards which made most people go back to their countries really happy. We all hoped you enjoyed the event and see you in October in the worlds in BRAZIL!
