Raceboard Fleet - The Raceboard Action Group would like to table a Notice of Intent:

"Following much discussion and consultation with active UKWA raceboards sailors, it is the intention of the Raceboard Action Group to review the opportunity of proposing the introduction of 2 weight classes into the UKWA Raceboard Fleet for 2011 and for this proposal to be voted on by the raceboard fleet at the last event of the 2010 season and then presented to the sailing committee for inclusion into the NOR and SI for the 2011 season. This is aimed at encouraging the heavier sailors to continue and others to return so as to build on the revival of raceboard racing and to achieve racing fairness in lighter wind conditions

During 2010 we want to further monitor and seek the raceboard fleet views and to evaluate the current weight distribution within the fleet to determine where a sensible split may be made. Current thinking places this between 80 and 85 Kg

We will be asking sailors to agree to being weighed at events as part of this process and welcome all views and comments from the fleet during the year"
