The Techno Class Association are looking at the possibility of providing coach support at the Techno 293 Europeans in Latvia.
In order to assess whether we would be able to provide this support and to put costings together for pre-event training and coach support during the event we need an indication of numbers of sailors who would be planning on attending.
There is no option for us to hire a rib in Latvia so the rib would be need to be driven over. Due to this we would only be able to send one rib and one coach which means that during the event the coach would have to support all sailors.
We have a couple of options available to us depending on uptake:
Plan 1: To send a coach and take the Techno Rib to Latvia will incur a cost of around £450 - £500 per sailor (based on 10 sailors).
Plan 2: To send the Techno Rib and this be manned by willing parents (who would also be willing to attend the coaches briefings every day and feedback the information to the parents and sailors). This will incur a cost of around £225 - £250 per sailor (based on 10 sailors).
Plan 3: Not send a coach or the rib and sailors use the Universal bag rib that will be available. Plus a willing parent who would also be willing to attend the coaches briefings every day and feedback the information to the parents and sailors
Please note; with option 1 and 2 if there are two or more courses the rib/coach cannot support all sailors/courses at the same time and that time would be split as equally as possible.

French National Championships August 2015
According to the RYA Notice of Selection for Bic Techno, we are due to select a team to attend the French National Championships in August 2015. We have been unable to secure reliable information on this event and will no longer be sending a team. Also, we are still awaiting final details on the Techno World Championships which we now believe will be in Cagliari during October 2015. The RYA is still considering options regarding viability of sending a team to this event. Further details to be released soon.
