Round 1 of the, new, 2007 UKWA Wave Championship is coming very soon! This years championship is a 4 event series - "The 4 Nations Cup" - Brandon Bay is once again the venue for the Irish leg of the tour.

Starboard Serenity - Demo Opportunity at Marazion!
John Hibbard will be attending the Marazion UKWA event this weekend armed with a Serenity - Starboard's amazing new light-wind displacement hull. Whilst not exactly the weapon of choice for slalom racing, in non-planing conditions this board is simply light years ahead of everything else.

Tricky conditions test Brits in Palma
The RS:X windsurfers finally saw some racing today at the Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma (Olympic Sailing classes), with Nick Dempsey crossing fifth in the men's fleet and a respectable 14th for Youth squad sailor Richard Hamilton, while Lucy Horwood and Bryony Shaw finished in fifth and seventh places respectively in the women's event.

F2 Speedgun Challenge 2007 - Round 1
Hayling Island was the venue for the first event of the UKWA racing season with the action taking place off the "Inn on the Beach", Westbeach. This year Matt Wemms, of 604 Distribution, importer of F2 equipment and promoter of the Speedgun Challenge concept combined forces with the UKWA to further develop speed as a racing discipline.

Hayling report
The forecasted ,cold, north / north easterly winds may have deterred some from attending but it was still a great turnout for the first event of the season. Hayling Island has hosted many memorable windsurfing events over the years and last weekends event was no exception. Indeed, it was a first for the UKWA - 3 events rolled into one !

The Tushingham Cup - Masterblaster Racing for everyone
The UK Windsurfing Association have combined forces with Tushingham Sails to give everyone the opportunity to compete in a series of simple off-the-beach Master-Blaster races irrespective of age, gender or sailor ability.

Sparky's Youth Training Camp No. 3, Tenerife
Plans are now being finalized for Sparky's third Youth Training Camp - a scheme masterminded by Sparky (Mark Hosegood) himself and drawing inspiration from the Andy Funnell Foundation to help raise the level of youth windsurfing within the UK and aboard.
