As the nights steadily get longer and the weeks slide ever closer to the beginning of September, Universities throughout Britain are gearing up for another freshers week, another scholastic year and another set of bright eyed and bushy tailed freshers eager to be led astray…

Keith Atkinson - Promotes Windsurfing on SKY

Keith Atkinson will be on UK Boating TV, showing on Information TV (Sky channel 167 and a live stream) on Weds 15th August at 6:30pm, and then for another 7 showings over the following fortnight (Mon/Wed/Fri at 6:30pm + Sun lunchtime), with repeated clips following on uk-boating.tv.

Four Nations Cup: Tiree Update (3-5 Oct)

The Tiree event is 8 weeks away!! Accommodation on the island will be very tight as a lot of the ‘windsurfing houses' and the Hynish Hostel have been pre-booked for the PWA event. However, Andy Groom has offered to give over some of the houses to the UKWA competitors.

Whiteair 2007 is not far off...

WHITEAIR Extreme Sports Festival 2007 has undergone a major transformation! Windsurfing remains the centre of attraction but the dates have moved to accommodate the Whiteair Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix ; bringing to the shores of the UK top formula racers from around the world , including current World Champion Steve Allen (AUS0). The event will also include Round 1 of the UKWA Freestyle Championships. (Info sheet)

Freewave camp re-scheduled

Due to circumstances beyond our control it is now not possible to run the UKWA YOUTH & JUNIOR FREEWAVE TRAINING CAMP over the weekend of 28/29 July. The revised dates are now 22/23 September, this is the next weekend that top level instructors are available and that has low midday tides which are preferable at Hove.

Eastbourne Extreme - racing ,freewave , masterblaster..results

Eastbourne Extreme just gets better and better each year ... and we were fortunate enough to complete all events planned for the weekend !

Williams wins 2 rounds

Ross Williams (GBR83) had his best day for some time at the PWA Pozo -slalom 42 - with 2 wins out of three rounds. Ross is currently placed 6th overall having made all the finals to date.

World windsurfing bronze for Dempsey

Nick Dempsey secured Great Britain's fourth medal at the ISAF World Sailing Championships in Cascais on Thursday (12 July), clinching bronze in a gripping final medal race. Full story on the Skandia Team GBR site.

Techno Open Race Training - July 21/22

The Techno Support Group has arranged a Techno Open Training week-end at Chase Water Sailing Club on 21/22 July.
The training will be run in parallel with the UKWA Midland Region Racing event on Saturday 21 July..........

Derwent delivers....a report from Ceri Williams

This was my first visit to Derwent (reservoir) Sailing Club .. a friendly club with great sailing conditions , in a wonderful setting . It was well worth the trip north ...and plans are already being laid for a "festival" event next year !

Formula Grand Prix confirmed for Whitair

The Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix is confirmed for Whiteair 2007. Not only is the event part of Euro Cup series , it is a level 2 Formula World Ranking regatta...but it will also be a great opportunity for UK formula racers to mix it with the best
