Williams wins 2 rounds
Ross Williams (GBR83) had his best day for some time at the PWA Pozo -slalom 42 - with 2 wins out of three rounds. Ross is currently placed 6th overall having made all the finals to date.

World windsurfing bronze for Dempsey
Nick Dempsey secured Great Britain's fourth medal at the ISAF World Sailing Championships in Cascais on Thursday (12 July), clinching bronze in a gripping final medal race. Full story on the Skandia Team GBR site.

The Techno Support Group has arranged a Techno Open Training week-end at Chase Water Sailing Club on 21/22 July.

This was my first visit to Derwent (reservoir) Sailing Club .. a friendly club with great sailing conditions , in a wonderful setting . It was well worth the trip north ...and plans are already being laid for a "festival" event next year !

South East Region T15, 3rd Event - Hove
On 24th June 07 the South Eastern T15 Teams met up at Hove for their 3rd event of the season, to compete for their individual category prizes and the all important ‘Winning Team' of the event prize. The Races were held in the Lagoon as the UKWA Championships were being held on the sea. With light winds due to a wind shadow from the clubhouse and occasional showers of rain, these weren't races for the light hearted.

Freewave Training Camp
Sign up now (entry form) for concentrated training by top UK instructors in wave and freestyle to improve all levels of freesailing and competition windsurfing. The Freewave Training Camp is now at a terrific new venue, "Hove Lagoon", the dates are 28/29 July, please get your name down early as places will be limited.

ISA Karpathos speed event throws up some surprise results
The 1st round of the ISA speed world cup kicked of on the idyllic island of Karpathos in Greece. The event was run last year for the 1st time and proved to be very popular with the racers for being the most welcoming on the tour. It was not surprising then for 2007, a record 75 entrants turned up from 22 countries including Australia, Brazil and Hawaii.

Wind and Rain in equal proportions...
It was a weekend of two halves -wind on saturday , rain on sunday - and plenty of both !
Ocean Festival from Hove Lagoon was undoubtedly a success - summed up perfectly by the race team as they relaxed over a final cuppa before heading home - " a result in all disciplines -championship slalom racing, freewave , speedgun challenge and a masterblaser to finish off !"
