Insurance discount for members

Noble Marine offer a 10% UKWA discount to be used to renew a policy or take out a new policy. UKWA members can also pay renewals and new policies by post and phone, just quote your membership number for the discount to be given.

RPM massages at Whitwell

Gavin will on hand at the Whitwell inland series event this weekend from friday evening to sunday afternoon to provide pre and post sports massage. Please book in advance with Gavin, and in keeping with the nature of the event, some of the proceeds go to charity.

Wave Championships Part One

Unfortunately there was no real swell coming in for us at Rhosneigr, however there was some small chop and a pretty solid North West wind for Saturday and Sunday, so the 43 sailors were able to put on an excellent display of fast and furious freestyle competition.

Welsh Open Racing- Freerace report

Royal Navy Formula Training

The recent Royal Navy training session at Weymouth turned out to be a fantastic weekend. Mark Kay made the 275-mile journey down to Weymouth. Once they got into the swing of things the Navy started to show just how good they are. After a couple of hours of hard work all the sailors understood just how important sailing in light winds is.

Youth Formula Qualification System - Amended

Please note that the Youth Formula Windsurfing Qualification System has been amended as of 6th May 2005 and this is now the current qualification system.

Nordic Championships

The Nordic Championships in Formula Windsurfing and Freestyle is just 3 weeke away. More than 100 competitors from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic countries are expected to battle for the title of Nordic Champion 2005.

RYA Open training - Hove

The RYA/UKWA will be running Open Training prior to The British Championships, Hove, on 27th May. The training will be run by National Coaches with the assistance of top National Sailors.

The training is open for both adults and youths and the content will differ in each training session.

Minutes from the AGM

The UKWA's Annual General Meeting was held at the Cutty Sark in Marazion on the 25th of March 2005. A short and good natured meeting, this is the ideal type of AGM!

Techno Cup 2005

For 2005 the Techno Cup has undergone a bit of a facelift and the prizes on offer for competitors should make this a well subscribed series of events. Ian Kraft gives an insight . . . .

Rutland Marathon 2005

Rutland Marathon in aid of NCH National children's homes will run on the afternoon of Sunday 15th May, as the final race of the weekend. You can download the sponsor form, get your friends to sponsor you and bring your form and importantly the sponsor money along to the event. Last year we raised just over £2400.00 for the charity.

Ross Williams holds the record for the course at approx 38 minutes. Keith Atkinson got close last year approx 41 minutes and is determined to beat it this year.

Welsh Cup - Day 2

The final day of the welsh cup saw one race for the Raceboard & junior fleet, but there wasn't enough wind for the Formula fleets.

Wave Championships entry form

The Wave Champs entry form has just been finalised, for the two-part Wave Championships. The first part at Rhosneigr (5th May) tends to be port-tack biased, and the second part at Bigbury (Sept 10th) tends to be starboard-tack biased. See the freewave 2005 info and update for more info. Pre-entry for Rhosneigr is by the 2nd May.
