With the recent banning of Windsurfing kit by BA fresh in our minds, the UKWA and GSG Cargo have teamed up to help competitors going overseas. Check out the services, which should be a great option, especially for groups of people going to events.

The UK's first ever National Windsurfing Week is taking place from 3-11 May 2008 and we want you to be part of it! Even if you've never been on a board in your life, National Windsurf Week is the ideal time to give windsurfing a try.

Mark Kay Winter Training : 07-08 UPDATE

This weekend turned out to be an excellent training session with Techno and RSX. The conditions on Saturday were cold however had 10-22 knots with some tricky gusts, managing speeds of up to 30mph; It was more of survival training session.
Mark really does push the sailors to the limit; no matter how hard the sailors think they are working Mark seems to get them to work ever harder.

Windsurfer of the Year .....

Despite a very promising forecast, the wind did not arrive for the warm-up event to the evenings celebrations.
The evenings activity moved to the Sandbanks Hotel , Poole, for the Annual Awards Ceremony. MC for the evening was Ceri Williams, a late replacement for Peter Hart , who was a late replacement for DW ; who was a .........

Keith Atkinson gets BBC 2007 Sportsman of the Year Nomination

Last year Keith was awarded the BBC South East ‘Watersports Personality' of the year award and this is his third year in succession to be honoured with a BBC nomination.
The BBC have recognised Keith Atkinson's outstanding achievements during this year, picking up all three windsurfing titles, this being a repeat of his 2006 performance and the third consecutive year that he has been the overall British Champion.

Sailors Meeting on Sunday 18th...

Members are invited to a "Sailors Meeting" that will take place on sunday morning, 18th November, at the Sandbanks Hotel. All are welcome - racers and wave sailors; speedsters and freestylers ! Meeting starts at 9.00 am - so no laying in bed after the evenings festivities!

Bournemouth/Poole event info

The racing on saturday will take place off the beach between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers.
There is parking all along the esplanade -except for the 100m before B'mouth pier. Access is from the Boscombe Pier end ......

Hibbard & Jackson confirmed as Champions

Tushingham/Starboard riders John Hibbard and Alan Jackson are confirmed as 2007 Wave and Slalom Champions, respectively.
It was a close run thing in both disciplines - both titles decided on a tie break.!

Masterblaster style racing will take place on Saturday 17th november , "off the beach" near Bournemouth Pier. For the evening session its down to Poole and the Sandbanks Hotel for the final party and prize-giving.

The ten sailing events for the 2012 Olympic Games have been decided by the ISAF Council during the 2007 ISAF Annual Conference. Today in Estoril, Portugal, ISAF President Göran Petersson led the ISAF Council in over two hours of debate and discussion before the ten events were decided.........

Midland Region grand final

Whitwell hosts the Midland Region Grand Finale Weekend on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th November 2007. The Saturday is Slalom Racing, the Sunday is Round 10 of the UKWA Midland Series (Course racing), and includes The Famous Autumn Marathon where you can Race for the Xavier Ferlet Trophies.
