Frustrating Speedweek 2007
The week was hailed a great success despite the lack of wind the Monday's counting round meant it qualified as an official round of the World ISA circuit and that Nigel Spriggs and Linda Cleary are crowned the UKWA 2007 British speed champions.

Dan wins IFCA World title....
After five days the 23rd IFCA Slalom World Championships 2007 in Hyeres has ended. Despite not so promising forecasts it was possible to have spectacular windsurfing competition on all but the last days. Dan Ellis (GBR 52, Fanatic, Naish Sails) from Great Britain is the Slalom World Champion 2007.

Frustrating start to Speedweek 2007
A record number of competitors from all over Europe arrived on the opening day of WSW to be faced with a moderate wind forecast from an easterly direction, not the normal south-westerly. To add to the frustration, the timing system from the ISA had a major problem with a crashed hard drive. So the old system had to be hurriedly pressed back into service to enable timing to take place.

Keith Atkinson Again Completes the UK Triple
Keith Atkinson has once more pulled off the UK Triple by taking the remaining two National Formula Windsurfing titles for the second year in succession.

British Success at The First RSX Youth Worlds, Sopot
Richard Hamilton (GBR 75) & Elliot Carney (GBR 274) did very well at the recent RSX Youth Worlds (Sopot, Poland). The competition was run to the new Olympic format with the final day being the medal race for the top ten sailors.

Whitwell -Inland 5 summary...

Eastern Windsuring Association formed...
For the first time in nearly 10 years, the Eastern region has its own windsurfing association and racing scene.
The aims of the association are to get local windsurfers together for ‘Master Blaster' fun race days and to sail together at a variety of East Coast locations. -
Finalblaster, Prize Giving and Party...
The final event of the season will now take place at Bournemmouth on November 17th..
On the water actvity will take the form of a Masterblaster ...the evening activity moves to the Bournemouth Pavilion for the Annual Prize Giving and end of season Party. -
ANIMAL WINDFEST freestyle results ...
As you would expect there was a great festival atmosphere at the 2007 Poole Animal Windfest.! Unfortunately there was not a lot of wind - only one championship round for Junior, Youth and Amateur sailors, and a Pro Expression session.

RYA Youth & Masters..results
Plenty of racing at last weekends Youth and Masters with 7 or 8 races for raceboad and techno fleets and 4 races for formula.
Over 170 competitors battled it out for this years honours- 23 open juniors; 84 techno juniors; 44 raceboard and 20 formula. -
