The European Formula Championships in Rhodos has been the biggest windsurfing competition so far this year. The event attracted 113 men and 10 women, whom had travelled from 26 countries and four continents. Hugh Sims-Williams reports.

Formula Windsurfing European Championships
Lucy Horwood gained 2nd place overall at the European Formula championships, becoming european champion (as Allison Shreeve is Australian), and Ross Williams stayed ahead of Steve Allen to take 4th in the mens gold fleet.

Freewave Training Camp
The UKWA Youth and Junior freestyle/wave training camp is at Christchurch agian this year, from 27th - 29th August 2005. This includes intensive instruction by fully experienced instructors, and there will be sessions with some of the top UK Freewave sailors who will be at the UKWA Freewave Event.

Dan Ellis Wins Asian Windsurfing Tour
The Asian Windsurfing Tour has reached its climax in style in Ulsan, South Korea. Thousands of spectators turned out to see the biggest event in world windsurfing so far this year. Ellis rose to the top of the podium as he now takes the Title of Champion of the AWT ending the six year reign of Australia's Robbie Radis.

Inland Series 2 - Farmoor
This coming weekend the LWA and Oxford Sailing Club are looking forward to welcoming you to Event Two of the UKWA Inland Series at Farmoor on Sat and Sun 11 and 12 June. (LWA sailors who wish to do so may enter just for the Saturday).

British Formula Championships
The time had come to take to the water and see who would be the British Formula Champion of 2005. Britain boasts a very strong formula fleet which attracted both French and Dutch sailors to the open championships. The timing of the event provided an ideal build up regatta for the Europeans the following week in Rhodes.

Hove Freewave
Andy Chambers (AKA 'Bubble') outshone the competition with fluid and consistent moves despite the challenging conditions, most notably some slick Flakas. Terry Luxton and Simon Hurrey were second equal both showing an impressive array of moves. Caroline Radway reports.

Ireland Freewave - Andys Craic
Oh the joy of being back in Brandon Bay! What an awesome place and a fitting location for this very special event - Andy's Craic. The event was an informal event held in memory of Andy Funnell, Trevor's son and friend to all, who tragically died soon after the Triple Crown event in Ireland last May. This was the last place he had a really good sail, and the last place he whizzed round his trademark double forwards.

British Championships
The British Champs started with lots of wind, and some very hard racing that challenged even the international contingent!
Nick Dempsey & Christine Johnston won the Formula fleet, Adam Peplasis & Laura Bray won the Raceboard fleet.

British Open & Ocean Carnival
This years event promises to be bigger and better than ever!
Once again the British Open Racing Championships will form the main feature of 2005 Ocean Canival, hosted by Lagoon Watersports.Update: The RYA training on friday has been cancelled.

Aloha rules amendment
The National Under 15 fleet (Aloha) rules have had a small addition - the centerboard may be shimmed. The full rules are on the Aloha site, the addition is under C.6.3.

Freewave at Brandon Bay
As most people know there will not be a Triple Crown Event in Ireland this year but the UKWA event is still on at Brandon Bay for the 20th 23rd May and will be known as "Andy's K24 Craic" in memory of Andy Funnell. (Entry Form)
